A Marriage
I chose to write about the poem A Marriage by Michael Blumenthal. This poem represents the strengths, weaknesses, and hardships of a marriage. At the beginning of the poem the description makes you think of that weight on your shoulders that one may be carrying along with them. Sometimes you just want to give up because you are so tired and fed up. Then the love of your lover will help that feeling subside. Throughout every marriage there are times when you feel like you have the weight of the world to carry around with you. There are many things to worry about while being married, but there will always be your lover there to help you. Throughout all of the problems, you work through them and the marriage continues. The roof over your head represents the marriage, you arms represent your feelings and hardships. The "someone" represents your lover. I find myself worrying about whether or not I will be able to handle spending the rest of my life with one person. The hardships of being in a relationship takes a toll on your relationship and life with that person. The wisdom that is presented is at the end of the day you will always have that person there to help you when times are hard.
